To Richard Stokes
On Monday, 11 July 2005, during the reign of the Conservative-BILLD group the council announced:
"Unfortunately, the air conditioning in the computer room has developed a fault and the temperature has risen to such an extent that we have no choice but to power off some servers, which run our major applications, such as Payroll, Revenue, benefits, etc.."
For more than 2 years the persistent temperature problem regularly re-occurred and then caused a week-long shut-down of the council's entire computer operation creating widespread havoc and disruption whilst greatly inconveniencing the public generally and the residents of the Borough specifically.
Is the failure of you and your Cabinet to ensure the problem noticed on 11 July 2005 was properly fixed and a further failure by you and your Cabinet to ensure the council has a satisfactory fit-for-purpose disaster recovery scheme systematic of your personal inability to cope as an effective Leader of the Council and a clear indication your egoistical grasping for power is fundamentally disadvantageous to the best interests of the people of Slough ?
To David Munkley
I, like many current and former councillors, have little confidence in your handling of council affairs including the Constitution Working Party chairmanship and the working party on polling places chairmanship.
The latest example resulted in the 3 Britwell councillors Pat Shine, Sean Wright and John Finn walking-out from the joint Conservative-BILLD meeting on 10 December whilst loudly protesting they had not been consulted about the planned move of the BE polling station from the present polling station, the birth place of the IBR, to the neutral church hall.
Bearing in mind the official recommendation for the move was personally endorsed by you as chairman of the working party and had full officer support including that of the Director responsible for Democratic Services and that these 3 IBR councillors are part of your BILLD group and they would have received a copy of the Members Bulletin mentioning the official recommendation of your polling places working party, why do you think they preferred to abandon your company to drink at the Polish Club instead of deliberating with fellow councillors in the council chamber about council business on that Monday evening 10 December 2007 ?
