Reponse to Steven Quayle

31 January 2007

To: Steven Quayle,

Dear Steve,

Thank you for your email dated Wed, 31 Jan 2007 14:42:13 -0000.

> Further and Better Particulars are only relevant when you have commenced legal proceedings.

Untrue. Any person in any set of circumstances can ask for further and better particulars of a response given to them. The High Court does not have a monopoly on the usage of this phrase.

> The Council will provide these when or if you issue your case.

By withholding the information at this stage of the pre-action process you are unnecessarily increasing my costs and going against the fundamental tenet of a Letter before Action.

I have submitted two Freedom of Information requests (FOIR815 and FOIR816) for the requested items which will demolish the Council's position even further. I therefore urge Slough Borough Council:

  • to come to its senses; and
  • to do its public duty; and
  • to act responsibly; and
  • not to waste the public's money on unnecessary litigation.

Yours sincerely,

Paul.
