Slough Councillors' Questions - 6 February 2007

Question 15

10 July 2007

From Councillor Pervez Choudhry

In your recent 'Focus on Foxborough' leaflet it says "Now, at last, progress is being made since Labour were kicked out and people such as Councillor Robert Plimmer are working hard to bring improvements in the management of the housing service…". Seeing as things are going so well for you, I would be fascinated to hear your explanation of why you failed to receive two stars in the ALMO inspection after all Councillor Plimmer's improvements?

Reply Councillor Robert Plimmer

You could have saved time by asking this question to your fellow Labour Councillor, Lydia Simmons, who currently serves with me on the board of People 1st (Slough).

The full People 1st (Slough) inspection report is available to read at www.audit-commission.gov.uk/reports/BVIR.asp?ProdID=E6F6ACF5-50AB-465c-ACFE-DD08678BA365

This administration and the board of People 1st is more determined then ever to secure the additional investment necessary to bring Slough's housing up to the decent standard and, in response to the inspectors' findings, we are putting in place the necessary measures to do this.
