In the centre of Slough, beneath the main London to Bristol railway lines is a busy pedestrian thoroughfare in two sequential tunnels. It links Salt Hill Park (directly opposite the Town Hall headquarters of Slough Borough Council) with Baylis Park, Woodland Avenue and Baylis Road. None of the Council's 40-odd senior staff live in the borough and they appear unconcerned by the dilapidation and conspicuous Council neglect residents experience every day.

Annoyed with Slough Borough Council lack of pride in the Borough of Slough generally and the Council's blatant disregard for the disgusting state of both pedestrian tunnels, Paul Janik invited the following personnel to a meeting on 17 June 2005 to discuss improving the appearance of the tunnels.

Paul Janik took these photographs on 17 June 2005 to illustrates the then status quo.

Jon Goosey said he could get paint donated by a manufacturer and Colin Bailey said he could get people sentenced by the Courts to Community Service to paint the insides of both tunnels.
