After the mistake of printing polling cards with last year's date, perhaps a Freudian slip that after a year everyone would like a re-run of last year's election, can you clarify whether it will be Slough's Council tax payers that will have to foot the bill for this failure to quality check the cards before despatch? A fraction of the Slough polling cards printed for the General Election mistakenly carried last year's date. A human error in proof reading meant that some of these actually got posted but most of these were caught before dispatch. The cost of running the General Election locally falls on central government and not on Slough Councillors' - it is, therefore, not in any way funded by Slough's Council Tax revenues. |
