Slough Councillors' Questions - 14 December 2004

Question 8

From: Councillor May Dodds

You preside over a group of Councillors who made a number of promises at the last election such as:

  • To stop the customer service centre
  • To stop the building of the Colnbrook incinerator
  • To prevent any building on land at Wexham
  • To prevent any building on land at Castleview
  • To keep Thames Valley Infant Community School open
  • To save trees from being cut down by developers
  • To re-open the play centres
  • To increase spending on highway and pavement repairs

Under your leadership, none of these projects has been achieved. Do you consider this failure to deliver on major election pledges;

  • A personal failure?
  • A collective failure? Or
  • Proof that the members of your hapless coalition made promises that could not be delivered in order to gain power in the Council?
