There are 14 wards in the Borough of Slough. Each ward elects 3 councillors except Colnbrook & Poyle which elects 2.
Before the 2004 local elections, some ward boundaries changed. 3 wards disappeared: Baylis, Stoke & Cippenham. 3 new wards were created: Baylis-Stoke, Cippenham Green & Cippenham Meadows.
In 1998 Slough became a Unitary Authority with the combined powers and responsibilities of an existing local District Council and of the abolished Berkshire Country Council.
